NHL parlay picks March 12: Bet on the Lightning and Golden Knights to win

There’s an octet of NHL games this Sunday and we’ve dialled in on three picks to form a parlay.

The pregame narrative: The Tampa Bay Lightning will be without Steven Stamkos, but that shouldn’t impede them from beating the struggling Winnipeg Jets. We’re also backing the Las Vegas Golden Knights on the road and are expecting Tyson Barrie to notch a point against the worst defensive team in the NHL.

NHL odds as of 1:58 p.m. on 03/12/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Lightning ML + Golden Knights ML + Barrie to record a point (+408)

Lightning moneyline (-195): Tampa Bay has been lights out at home this season, winning 70.5% of all games at Amalie Arena (24-5-5). The Bolts will be without their captain, but they will have more than enough offence left to take down the Jets.

Both teams are coming off wins but Winnipeg remains on the road while Tampa Bay has the benefit of staying at home. The Jets will also be without two of their most impactful players as Josh Morrissey and Pierre-Luc Dubois remain sidelined.

What really has us excited here is the goalie matchup. Brian Elliot started for the Lightning yesterday meaning former Vezina winner Andrei Vasilevskiy will be between the pipes tonight. Compare that to Winnipeg’s starter — David Rittich — and we’ve got quite the mismatch to exploit.

Other parlay picks

Golden Knights moneyline (-150): Vegas is on a heater, and we don’t think the St. Louis Blues will be able to stop them.

The Golden Knights have won five of their last six games and are averaging 3.3 goals per contest in that span. They’re also a stellar 19-7-5 on the road this season.

The Blues shipped off most of their top-end talent at the trade deadline and aren’t really a competitive team. They have won three of their last five games but those victories came against the San Jose Sharks (twice) and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

If you look back further you’ll see St. Louis has only won three of its past 10 contests.

Barrie to record a point (+100): Barrie has only notched a point in two of his five games since joining the Predators, but tonight is a prime opportunity to stuff the stat sheet.

Nashville is playing the Anaheim Ducks, and that team is simply awful.

The Ducks allow the most goals per game (3.85), have the 19th-ranked save percentage (.898) and concede a whopping 39.17 shots per game (the most in the league).

Barrie recorded 43 points with the Edmonton Oilers in 60 games prior to being traded and is worth a look at even money tonight.
