NHL parlay picks March 15: Bet on Sabres, Avalanche, Ducks

There are four NHL games for us to build a parlay with on Wednesday.

The pregame narrative: The Buffalo Sabres are getting healthy and we’re picking them to beat the floundering Washington Capitals. The Colorado Avalanche are in the rare role of a puck line underdog and we’ll select them to cover against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Lastly, we’re backing the Anaheim Ducks versus the New York Islanders.

NHL odds as of 1:01 p.m. on 03/15/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Sabres moneyline + Avalanche +1.5 + Ducks +1.5 (+373)

Sabres moneyline (-103): Buffalo’s starting to get healthy which is a big reason why we like the squad on Wednesday.

Both Alex Tuch and Rasmus Dahlin returned in the team’s most recent game and the former made an instant impact. Tuch potted two goals — including the game-winner — in a 4-3 win over Toronto.

The Sabres are on the road and have played well away from home this season. They’re 20-10-2 on the road and just 13-18-3 at KeyBank Center.

The Capitals, meanwhile, have more losses (17) than victories (15) at home this season. They’re also playing their second game in as many nights, and the Caps are 1-6-1 in games on zero days of rest.

Avalanche +1.5 (-210): Colorado’s another team, like Buffalo, that is finding success away from home this year.

The Avalanche are an impressive 19-11-1 on the road and have won five of their last six as visitors. Regardless of location, they’ve won nine of their last 13 and have covered this number in 12 of their last 15.

The Maple Leafs are one of the NHL’s best teams, but they aren’t winning by margin with any sort of regularity. They’ve won by two-plus goals in just one of their last six contests.

We’re anticipating a close game between a pair of the league’s top squads.

Ducks +1.5 (-165): Anaheim’s 54 points are the fourth-fewest in the NHL, but the team has been a tough out for opponents over the better part of the last month.

The Ducks are 5-1-3 since Feb. 23, covering as 1.5-goal underdogs in eight of those nine games. Solid goaltending has been the key to their success as they rank fourth in team save percentage (.924) during this stretch, according to Natural Stat Trick.

They’re facing an Islanders squad that doesn’t make a habit of overpowering their opponents. The Isles haven’t won by two-plus goals in four consecutive games, actually losing back-to-back contests ahead of this one.

This will also be New York’s second game in as many nights.
