NHL parlay picks Nov. 27: Bet on Lightning as puck line underdogs

A pair of recent Stanley Cup champions headline tonight's +235 NHL parlay.

The pregame narrative: The Tampa Bay Lightning are on the road against the Colorado Avalanche, and with their star goalie back to full health the Lightning are worth backing on the moneyline. Also, the Vegas Golden Knights should be able to at least keep things close against the Calgary Flames

NHL oddsas of 11:50 a.m. on 11/27/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Lightning +1.5 + Golden Knights or tie - regular time + WSH/SJ under 6.5 goals - regular time (+235)

Lightning +1.5 (-205): Tampa Bay is in for a tough matchup tonight, but that's why we're banking 1.5 goals with the visitors. This is a line the Lightning have covered in 15 of 21 games — including five in a row.

The Lightning are in Colorado tonight, where the Central Division-leading Avalanche awaits. But for as good as the Avs have been, they've only covered this number five times in their past nine games.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made his season debut last week for the Lightning, backstopping them to an 8-2 win over the Hurricanes. He's a huge difference-maker in this matchup.

Since the start of the 2021-22 season, the Lightning have covered this line in all four of Vasilevskiy's starts against Colorado. The Russian posted a 2.19 GAA and .940 SV% in that span.

Other parlay picks

Golden Knights or tie - regular time (-200): Vegas is practically in pick 'em territory tonight in Calgary, holding -118 odds. For a reigning champion off to a strong start, that doesn't look right.

The Golden Knights lead the Western Conference with 30 points, which is thanks in part to a strong road record (6-3-1). Their 56.9% goal share ranks fifth in the NHL.

Calgary is 8-10-3 this year and has just one regulation win in its past five games.

WSH/SJ under 6.5 goals - regular time (-200): Two of the most offensively inept teams in the NHL meet in the Shark Tank tonight, and this teased-up under should absolutely be in play.

At 5-on-5, the San Jose Sharks rank 29th in high-danger chances per 60 (9.8), and the Washington Capitals rank 27th (10.3 HDCF/60), according to Natural Stat Trick. Also, these teams combine to average 5.7 expected goals per 60 at all strengths.

The under is 25-11-2 cumulatively for the Sharks and Capitals this year, and when the over hits, it's usually their opponents doing the heavy lifting. These teams played each other in D.C. last month and the Capitals earned a 3-1 victory.
