NJ Devils vs. St. Louis Blues predictions, odds and puck line

The New Jersey Devils (35-13-5, 2nd in Metropolitan) are in St. Louis as they take on the Blues (25-25-3, 6th in Central) at 9 p.m. on Thursday night at Enterprise Center.

The Devils took care of business in their last game, defeating the lowly Blue Jackets, 3-2, on Tuesday night.

The Blues have won back-to-back games after a five-game losing streak.

Will the Devils continue to play their best on the road, or can St. Louis play spoiler against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference? Here are my picks and predictions for this matchup with odds powered by Tipico Sportsbook.

Puck line: Devils -1.5 (+165)

On Tuesday, I picked the Devils to win by two or more goals and they fell short with a late go-ahead goal in regulation. However, I'm in full support of New Jersey to get the job done in this spot and here's why.

In the last seven losses for St. Louis, each of them have been by multiple goals including four of those games taking place at Enterprise Center.

On the other hand, eight of the last 10 Devils' matchups have been decided by one goal with the team winning six of them.

Something has to give and I'm banking on New Jersey to cover the puck line here.

Over/Under: Under 6.5 goals (-115)

With all of their one-score games, the Devils' have been great to the under as six of their last eight overall have seen fewer than seven goals. The total has gone under in 11 of New Jersey's last 16 matchups versus an opponent with a losing record.

Facing off against a Blues team that ranks bottom half in the league in goals and shots per game, I'm betting on the under.

Moneyline: Devils (-150)

In recent memory, New Jersey has struggled in this matchup. The Devils are 5-17 in the last 22 meetings and lost eight of the previous nine games in St. Louis.

However, these are two teams going in different directions with New Jersey fighting for a division title, while St. Louis is currently eight points out of the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

At a relatively fair price on the moneyline, bet on the Devils to continue their dominance on the road against a struggling Blues' squad.

My Best Bets

Place a wager on the Devils' moneyline (-150), to cover the -1.5 spread (+165) and the under 6.5 total goals scored at -115 on Tipico Sportsbook.
