No. 6 Pilots to Take on Beavers in Corvallis
The Pilots take a break from conference play to take on the Oregon State Beavers on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
The Pilots will play the Loyola Marymount Lions on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at Merlo Field.
The Pilots are unbeaten through 11 games and they are 2-0 in the WCC. Gurman Sangha scored the game-winner against San Francisco Dons. Sanghta and goalkeeper George Tasouris were named W CC Players of the Week. The team is ranked sixth in both the United Soccer Coaches and College Soccer News polls. It's their highest combined rankings in any poll since the 1989 season. They are 15th in goals, 11th points, eighth assists, seventh in assists per game and 11 th in goal differential. It is the first time they've been ranked in regular season since 2019.
Oregon State Beavers are 4-3-4 overall and 1-1-2 in Pac-12 play this season. Last year, they were one of the best teams in the nation and earned the No. 1 overall seed in NCAA Tournament. This year they are co-favorites to finish first in their conference with the now-No.1 Washington Huskies. Chris Brown is in his second season as head coach of San Francisco Dons.
