NRL 2022: US businessman pitches Salt Lake City, Utah, as host for historic rugby league game in United States

NRL is considering taking a rugby league game to the United States. Paul Langi Kinikini has held talks with NRL officials about the possibility of taking the opening game of the 2023 season to Utah. It would be the first time a competition game has been staged outside of Australia or New Zealand. Manly will be one of those involved if the game goes ahead. South Sydney pulled out of playing in the World Club Challenge. The NRL is hoping to finalise its 20th round draw in coming weeks. Manlys team was to play in Denver in 2018. However, the team pulledout because of logistical issues.
