Oakland Athletics-Nationals series loses drama via MLB draft lottery
Oakland Athletics-Nationals series is being decided via MLB draft lottery system. The A's are 5½ games behind the Nationals in the MLB standings. Both teams are heading toward 100-loss seasons. All teams not qualifying for the postseason will be eligible for lottery. Three teams with the worst records will each have the same odds of winning the lottery as they would of picking second through sixth. The first six picks in each year’s draft will now be determined via the draft system and the winner will have a 16.5% chance of earning the No. 1 lottery pick.
