Pacers vs Pistons Prediction

The Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons duke it out at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday night.

The Indiana Pacers have been on a nice run as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Rockets in a 134-125 overtime home win on Thursday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 29 points and 19 assists, Myles Turner added 21 points with seven blocks, Jordan Nwora scored 18 points off the bench while Buddy Hield chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 18 of 45 from the 3-point line as they squandered an 18-point lead they built in regulation, before they made up for it in overtime where they poured in 19 points to win easily in the end.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been ice-cold lately as they’ve lost 13 of their last 14 games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a 10-game slide after getting beaten by the Hornets in a 113-103 loss on Thursday. Cory Joseph led the team with 17 points off the bench, Jaden Ivey and James Wiseman each scored 16 points while Isaiah Livers chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and seven of 21 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Hornets off to a quick start to fall behind early and they didn’t really get on any sort on a run until they fell behind by 18 points in the third quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Pistons are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a double-digit loss at home.

Head to head, the under is 6-0 in the last six meetings in Detroit, the Pacers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Detroit and the Pacers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Pacers could be shorthanded here as Bennedict Mathurin is out, while Myles Turner and Tyrese Haliburton are both questionable, while the Pistons have rued out Isaiah Stewart, Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks. The Pacers have come to life with some good wins recently and they will be feeling good after outlasting the Rockets in an overtime win on Thursday. The Pistons have continued to slump their way towards the end of the season and I think their struggles continue here as the Pacers get the job done as long as Haliburton is on the court. Check the lineups before tipoff, but for now, I’ll lean towards the Pacers to get the win and cover.
