Pacers at Magic Prediction

The Indiana Pacers invade the Amway Center to take on the Orlando Magic on Saturday night.

The Indiana Pacers have been in dreadful form as they’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up short against the Celtics in a 142-138 overtime loss on Thursday. Myles Turner led the team with 40 points and 10 rebounds on 13 of 15 shooting, Tyrese Haliburton added 22 points with 14 assists, Bennedict Mathurin scored 19 points while Buddy Hield chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 52 percent from the field and a sizzling 22 of 49 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to rally all the way back from a 16-point deficit, only to come up short in overtime where the Celtics slipped away.

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in pretty good form as they’ve won six of their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after sneaking past the lowly Pistons in a thrilling 108-106 home win on Thursday. Franz Wagner led the team with 21 points, Cole Anthony added 15 points off the bench while Wendell Carter Jr and Markelle Fultz scored 14 points apiece. As a team, the Magic shot just 41 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they squandered a 14-point lead in the third quarter, but they kept their composure and made up for it in the final second where Carter Jr. made the game-winning tip shot to carry the Magic over the line in a tight finish.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games. The Magic are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win.

Head to head, the over is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings overall and the Pacers are 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Orlando.

The Pacers are a little shorthanded again as Kendall Brown is ruled out, while the Magic don’t have a single player listed on the injury report. The Pacers have been one of the coldest teams in the league and they will be kicking themselves after falling just short in overtime to the Celtics in their last outing, but they are a solid 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Orlando. I might be tempted to take the Pacers if we were getting more free points, but with the line so short, I’ll stick with the Magic to get the win and cover at home.
