Pakenham preview and tips: Best bets and analysis for Thursday night racing

Shines impressed on his debut win at Geelong. Confrontational has won a couple of races over 1600m. Sheza Sniper turned in a much better effort when second-up over this trip last time out.

Geelong races during the day on Friday before a night meeting at Cranbourne. Saturday’s Melbourne city meeting will be on the Sandown Hillside track. Horsham will hold the support meeting on Sunday. Bendigo and Bairnsdale race on Saturday, before Werribee card on Monday. The famous three-day May Carnival starts at Warrnambool on Tuesday.
