The Merson Cooper Stakes is a good race most years. LITTLE BROSE (1) is worth a small each-way play. REMEDIES (10) won well and Cranbourne on debut and is major player again. Heuristic (3) was outgunned by the best two-year-old seen in Melbourne this season at his first run.

RACE 3: 1:45 PM: Premier Signs Doveton Stakes (1000m). There are several chances in this race. Rainbier (8) hasn't raced for a month but could get the perfect trail behind the leaders. YULONG COMMAND (3) led and tried hard down the straight second-up. BRUCKNER (1) has his share of class. JIGSAW (7) was dominant when resuming at Cranbourne.

Yulong Command is a good bet for Zipping Classic day.

RACE 4 is at 2:20 pm. It's listed Quayclean TWILIGHT GLOW STAKES (1400m). The UNICORN (12) has a tricky gate but will push forward. OUR EMPRESS ZOE ( 14) led and was dominant at Geelong. JENNIFERALA (8) impressed with her acceleration in the wet at The Valley. NAICONI (3) scored in a small field second-up.

The Uniclan is the favourite to win at Caulfield each-way.

Grey River is worth $3.90 to $4.60.

Poland (5) gave a good sight in a Group 2 race at Flemington last start. Streets of Avalon (1) is a dual Group 1 winner over the 1400m course. Norwegian Bliss (8) could measure up to this much tougher assignment. Crosshaven (3) worth putting in trifectas and first fours.

GRANDSLAM is a top chance in the Eclipse Stakes. KEATS (6) is racing well in easier grades but will push forward and drop to the minimum at Caulfield. PRINCESS RHAENYS (13) did her best work last over 1600m first-up and will be suited over this trip now. SO SI BON (3) should always go into multiples.

SOUND (3) should win the Zipping Classic after giving 3.5kg to the impressive import Soulcombe at Flemington last time. PERSAN (4) is at peak fitness after rolling forward and boxing on OK in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Without A Fight (10) struggled in wet ground but has the quality to improve.

RACE 8 is at 5pm on Oaks Day. There are four races. See You In Heaven (13) didn't have much luck in the straight but hit the line hard over 1400m at Flemington. HOLYMANZ (12) was outsprinted at 1400 m at Bendigo second-up. The FORTUNER TELLER (3) has raced well in his last two runs. MARXIST (15) won by 10 lengths at Pakenham last start.

ROOTS (8) has developed into a classy mare this time in with three wins from four starts. TOREGENE (7) won a $500,000 race at Flemington on Oaks Day and could figure again. Paul's Regret (4) led and tried hard at Cranbourne and has drawn well again at Caulfield.
