Penn State Indiana Big Ten Football Preview

Penn State's last trip to Memorial Stadium ended in an overtime loss. The Hoosiers are on a five-game losing streak in 2022.

Indiana has struggled since earning a trip to a Florida bowl in the 2020 season. Many of their wins over Big Ten powers came when they were in turmoil. The offensive line continued its regression and the playcalling was lackluster. Indiana started a walk-on quarterback and running back during rivalry week because of injuries. Indiana is stuck with a below average offensive lines in a conference to have one.

Indiana's offense has been struggling recently. The team's offensive line play is not good enough to run many plays. The offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan's scripted drives last year helped the team.

Indiana's defense has regressed this season. Tom Allen's scheme prioritizes turnovers and the pass rush. The secondary has been less creative and played less often. Dasan McCullough is the only player with enough bend to bring down a quarterback in the passing rush, but he's not used in a lot of situations. Penn State and Indiana are in Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday.

Penn State takes on Indiana at Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Indiana is without its top wide receiver Cam Camper and its best defender Cam Jones. Tom Allen hinted that he's making a change at quarterback. Connor Bazelak might not start at QB1.

Indiana's basketball season starts on Monday night against Morehead State. Indiana is favored to win the Big Ten this year, but they should be in the top 3.
