Philadelphia Phillies vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction 6-11-23 MLB Picks

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies meet Sunday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. This will be the finale in a three-game weekend series. The Phillies eked out a victory in the opener, then in game two the Dodgers took a blowout win to even it up. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers came back from a 4-1 deficit in the Friday game but ended up losing in a walk-off 5-4. On Saturday Los Angeles scored six in the seventh inning on the way to a dominant 9-0 win. Bobby Miller lasted 6.0 frames with three hits and three walks in the start.

For the starter gig in the Sunday matchup the Dodgers didn’t immediately announce a name.

Philadelphia Phillies

Over on the Phillies’ side, they got a walk-off home run from Kyle Schwarber for the victory on Friday. In game two the Phillies had six hits in the shutout loss. Starter Aaron Nola managed 6.1 innings with six earned, seven hits and two walks.

Starting for Philly on Sunday will be Taijuan Walker. In his 13 starts this year Walker is 5-3 with a 5.04 ERA and 53 Ks in 64.1 innings. Walker is 59-53 with a 3.97 ERA in 180 career games (176 starts).

The Dodgers are 81-37 in their last 118 versus a right-handed starter and 85-40 in their last 125 Sunday games. LA is 1-5 in their last six in game three of a series.

Meanwhile, the Phillies are 5-1 in their last six in game three of a series and 38-17 in their last 55 at home. Philly is 2-6 in their last eight versus the NL West.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll stay with the Phillies in this one. Walker had a bumpy start versus the Mets back on June 1 (4.0 innings; three earned) but turned it around in his last appearance. In that matchup versus the Tigers Walker notched a win with 7.0 clean innings, two hits and three walks. On Saturday the Phillies did nothing on the scoreboard and Bryson Stott (3-for-4) was the only effective hitter. The offense needs to get in gear for this finale.
