Playoff Contenders in the East & Frank’s Pre-Season Tour

The pre-season is officially underway and after a long summer off, there are NHL games being played. Things got going this weekend with the NHL’s Global Series down in Australia. The games produced some great highlights, but things were close to going off the rails down under, as Frank explained.

Frank’s doing his own pre-season tour right now, as he’s currently in Vancouver to get a feel for how the Canucks are shaping up heading into this season. That led into some conversation about the team’s core and how important this year is for them.

From there, they talked about the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. There are a handful of teams that missed the playoffs last season but went out and got better this summer. Can teams like the Senators, Sabres, and Red Wings improve enough to knock a team like the Islanders out of the playoffs? What about the Penguins and Capitals? The East will be tight this season.

The guys then brought in Tyler for a new round of Fill In The Blank. He had them compete head-to-head and try to guess the line of some futures bets over at Betano.

From there, they wrapped up by talking about the expectations in St. Louis. Their core is aging, but are they still good enough to compete for a playoff spot?
