Preakness Stakes 2022: Horses, odds and what to know

The 147th Preakness Stakes is taking place on Saturday at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. It's expected to be the hottest day of the year so far. Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike won't take part in the race. Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert is suspended from horse racing. He was suspended after Medina Spirit's victory at Kentucky Derby was disqualified. The horse failed a drug test after crossing the finish line first.

Rich Strike stunned everyone when it won the Derby at the longest odds of any horse in the race – 80/1. Epicenter is the favorite for the middle jewel in Triple Crown. Fenwick is considered the biggest outsider of this year’s Preakness Stakes at 50/1000. Secret Oath and Early Voting are two other horses that make up the list of favorites.
