Pride Of Jenni could be set for Royal Ascot

In just a week, Pride Of Jenni has undergone a remarkable transformation in form, solidifying her position as a potential contender for prestigious International races in the upcoming year. Following her impressive victory in the Empire Rose Stakes and outpacing some of the finest milers in the G1 Champions Mile, discussions about a Royal Ascot campaign have emerged.

Jockey Declan Bates, openly enamoured with his emerging star, and was not surprised by the outcome. Similarly, trainer Ciaron Maher, recognising her dominance in the Empire Rose Stakes, believed it was no fluke.

Maher expressed his delight, stating, “When mares are in form, they can do that.” He acknowledged the potential impact of her previous Saturday win on her performance but emphasized meticulous preparation during the week, resulting in her excellent condition.

Given Pride Of Jenni’s prowess at the 1600-meter distance, Maher was asked about tempting options like the All-Star Mile in March. However, he hinted at even grander aspirations, mentioning the possibility of targeting Royal Ascot, specifically the Queen Anne Stakes over 1600 meters.
