Pundits in agreement with Manchester United predictions vs Everton

Manchester United will look to record back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since February on Saturday with a win over Everton that will secure their top four status for Easter.

A 1-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday was deserved if not comfortable and another gruelling contest awaits this weekend. Everton snatched a point in their 1-1 draw with Tottenham on Monday night to give United a boost in the race for Champions League qualification.

The gap to Spurs in fifth is now three points having played a game fewer than their rivals. Everton know that a defeat, or even a draw, could see them sink back into the bottom three with the relegation battle incredibly tight.

Should Newcastle be held by Brentford, though, United will jump up into third with a win over the Toffees. Several pundits agree that United will get the win, albeit perhaps with different scorelines.

Paul Merson (Sportskeeda)

"Manchester United are a hard team to beat. Casemiro and Eriksen are big misses - they are the players that you don't want missing from your team. United haven't been playing very well, but they were impressive yesterday against Brentford. Marcus Rashford went three or four games without finding the back of the net, but he's now back to scoring goals.

"Sean Dyche has made Everton a hard team to get past, and they will pick up points here and there. They're not out of trouble just yet. I don't see them winning three or four games on the trot in the Premier League.

"Everton have stepped up this month, but I've got to go with Man United this weekend. A win here should cement their place in the Premier League top four."

Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Everton

Chris Sutton (BBC Sport)

"Manchester United are anything but free-flowing at the moment but they still found a way of beating Brentford on Wednesday.

"United are in a decent position to make the top four with Tottenham hitting the buffers a bit, but it is important they keep pushing on, especially at home.

"Everton will not make it easy for them and, since Dyche took charge at the end of January, they carry more of a threat now, especially from set-plays - but I still see United edging this."

Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Everton

Mark Lawrenson (Paddy Power)

"It was another good result for Everton on Monday night against Spurs but I’m going for Manchester United to win this. They were good enough against Brentford in the week, even if a 1-0 doesn’t sound that impressive, but generally they were quite comfortable and they’ve got over the Newcastle loss. Everton will stay up because they’ve got so much fight about them – just ask Harry Kane!"

Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Everton.
