Queanbeyan races: Tips, best bets, preview and inside mail, Sunday races

Roman is the favourite for Queanbeyan Cup (1600m) on Sunday. Roman ran last in a Saturday race at Randwick three weeks ago. His jockey Quayde Krogh needs to hold him up a little in the opening stages of the race. Mr Aloysius has the right from behind after a first-up win at the Sapphire coast. Irish Dancer is looking to win her first race on Queansbeyan's track. She finished third at Queanos last time. She has a track record of 4:2-2.0.

Jalmari is the best weighted horse on the card and should have way too much class for them.

SMUGGLER’s Bay should win on class alone in Race 6 No.4.

EPAULLO CREED is the value bet for Race 8 No.7 at his home track.

Joe Cleary has a huge team racing here. Choccy Gaf and King Gutho look to be his best winning hopes.

Nick Heywood picks up the prized rides of Jalmari and Olympic Theater. Final Showdown and Woodbraid Lad have their claims.

King Gutho is going to win the race. Devine Miss is a 1000m specialist. Vigoureux carries 10kg less than stablemate King Guthos.

Hispirit ran a credible second at the same track first-up. Shuffle Again has been tuned up for his debut. Ice Skater got beaten on the line over 1000m second-time. Artie Bee might appreciate a drier track.

Trooper Knuckle won at his first start at the same track last time. Honeysuckle Choice won the race last year. Kitty Karine hasn't run well recently.

Mr Aloysius hasn't run worse than second in four runs at this track. Keep It Down ran second to Mr Aloysius last time. Choccy Gafis won his second-up race.

Danny Williams has placed Jalmari in the Plate race. Irish Dancer is promising another win. Spiritly broke through at fair odds last start to win at the Sapphire Coast.

Major Time hasn't raced here before but he won last start. Shores Of Avalon was set harder tasks last prep and is well placed in this part of the start, but she wants a drying track. Smuggler’s Bay is another who is better suited to this grade and his winning strike rate is a ripper.

Prophet's Pride thrives at Queanbeyan and has run in Group races. Bon Frankie has put in three top runs leading up to this race. Diamond Carat should be leading after putting in a bad one last start.

Epaullo Creed hasn't won yet but he's run her six times for four placings. Factoring Profit has what looks to be a perfect set up with the barrier and weight. Battle Award put in an improving run last start and going up further in trip should help even more.

Roman needs to find cover and not go out too early in Race 9. Olympic Theatre is also in the Taree Cup today. Upper House was good in Little Dance two weeks ago and he is well placed here.
