Tony Finau is the defending champion of the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Sungjae Im finished second at the 3M Open and was 81st at St Andrews. Joohyung Kim won the Wyndham Championship last week. Im is ranked tenth in strokes-gained tee-to-green, tenth on greens in regulation and ninth off-the-tee. He has finished in the top ten in last two Masters.
Matt Fitzpatrick won the US Open at Brookline. Fitzpatrick is the best tee-to-green player on the PGA Tour this season. He was sixth at the Scottish Open and finished 21st at The Open.
Sam Burns is favourite to win this week's WGC St Jude event. Russell Henley is a bigger risk at 66-1. Henly has finished 10th at Rocket Mortgage Classic and 5th in Wyndham Championship. Sam Burns lost in a playoff to Abraham Ancer at the W GC St. Jude last year.
Justin Thomas is the only course winner in the field. Rory McIlroy has finished in top-ten in six of his last eight outings. Tony Finau has won the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
TPC Southwind is hosting the FedEx Cup playoffs. The prize money is $15 million. Top 65 players qualify for the final two rounds. Justin Thomas is the course winner. The tournament is live on Sky Sports Golf red button from 1.15 pm Thursday. There is a chance of rain on Thursday, but the rest of the tournament should be played in bright sunshine and light winds. Players who reside in the top 70 of FedEx cup rankings after the event will progress to play in next week's BMW Championship. Daniel Berger, Tommy Fleetwood, Lanto Griffin and Nate Lashley won't play.
