Racing tips: Sydney’s Autumn Carnival continues with Royal Randwick hosting day two of The Championships

Sydney's Autumn Carnival continues at Royal Randwick this Saturday with the inner city track hosting the second day of The Championships.

Racegoers will be treated to four group one races this Saturday including the Australian Oaks, Sydney Cup, Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Queen of the Turf Stakes.

Some of the best horses in the country including Anamoe and Dubai Honour will take to the turf this weekend in what is sure to be a stellar day of racing.

Horses who excel in the wet will be favoured by the punters after heavy rain over the past couple of weeks softened up the track to a heavy nine.

SkyNews.com.au has its regular panel of racing experts to give you all the racing tips for the weekend.

Expert Tips:

SkyNews.com.au has recruited four expert tipsters who will help readers pick the best odds and horses to make the most of each race day.

All odds are provided by Betr.

Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championships Final - 1400 metres - 1:25pm

Best bet: 5. Kayobi - $3.8 - Will relish the spacious Randwick track and is set to run a career peak on Saturday. He looks to have a stack of upside and could easily blow these away.

Next best: 1. Audette - $12

Roughie of the race: 12. Essonne - $18

Boxed trifecta: 1. Audette, 5. Kayobi, 11. Short Shorts, 12. Essonne

The Star Australian Oaks - 2400 metres - 2:35pm

Best bet: 6. Pierossa - $10 - She’s screaming out for the 2400m, handles a heavy track and maps a treat. Looks a great each-way bet.

Next best: 5. Arts - $6.5

Roughie of the race: 11. Mountain Guest - $31

Boxed trifecta: 5. Arts, 6. Pierossa, 7. Soul Choice, 11. Mountain Guest

Schweppes Sydney Cup - 3200 metres - 3:15pm

Best bet: 11. Cleveland - $3.90 - Has been set for this race and is weighted to win. The wide draw is a negative, he’ll be forced to sit near the rear of the field, but that only gives us a better price. He looks a class above.

Next best: 14. King Frankel - $6.50

Roughie of the race: 5. Arapaho - $12

Boxed trifecta: 5. Arapaho, 11. Cleveland, 12. High Emocean, 14. King Frankel

Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes - 2000 metres - 3:55pm

Best bet: 1. Anamoe - $2.60 - He’s the weight for age champion of Australia and he’ll get his chance to prove that yet again on Saturday. Look for J-Mac to find a forward position in the run and give him every possible.

Next best: 2. Dubai Honour - $2.45

Roughie of the race: 12. Montefilia - $18

Boxed trifecta: 1. Anamoe, 2, Dubai Honour, 4. Cascadian, 12. Montefilia

Sydney Queen of the Turf Stakes - 1600 metres - 4:35pm

Best Bet: 8. Atishu - $12 - She’ll need an aggressive ride from Nash Rawiller and some luck, but I expect her to be the one picking them off late coming off a huge last start run.

Next best: 7. Sirileo Miss - $6

Roughie of the race: 6. Promise of Success - $71

Boxed trifecta: 5. Hope in Your Heart, 7. Sirileo Miss, 8. Atishu, 10. Statement

Dean's stats: Best bet 0/6, next best 0/6, roughie 0/6

Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championships Final - 1400 metres - 1:25pm

Best bet: 1. Audette - $12 - Audette importantly has had two runs under her belt this prep and has a 2/2 record when racing 3rd up. She handles all going and maps to get the run of the race from barrier 6.

Next best: 5. Kayobi - $3.80

Roughie of the race: 8. Phearson - $19

Boxed trifecta: 1. Audette, 3. Loch Eagle, 5. Kayobi, 8. Phearson

The Star Australian Oaks - 2400 metres - 2:35pm

Best bet: 1. Pennyweka - $6 - Pennyweka was a domain 3L winner in the New Zealand Oaks which has produced 2/6 winners of the Australian Oaks. She gets the in-form Damian Lane aboard and most importantly, handles the wet track well.

Next best: 3. Fireburn - $6.50

Roughie of the race: 11. Mountain Guest - $41

Boxed trifecta: 1. Pennyweka, 3. Fireburn, 5. Arts, 11. Mountain Guest

Schweppes Sydney Cup - 3200 metres - 3:15pm

Best bet: 5. Arapaho - $12 - The Tancred looks the right form line this year, 17 of the past 20 winners have finished in the top four in their prior start before winning the Sydney Cup. Arapaho fits the mould brining a career best rating to this event winning the Tancred. The biggest tick is the map and the wet track.

Next best: 15. Nerve Not Verve - $16

Roughie of the race: 8. Explosive Jack - $26

Boxed trifecta: 5. Arapaho, 8. Explosive Jack, 14. King Frankel, 15. Nerve Not Verve

Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes - 2000 metres - 3:55pm

Best bet: 2. Dubai Honour - $2.45 - Elite first up run by the Dubai Honour, William Haggas has had 7 winners from 12 runners in Australia and looks to have another G1 star on his hands. He handles the wet track incredibly well and maps to get a lovely run in transit.

Next best: 1. Anamoe - $2.60

Roughie of the race: 4. Cascadian - $12

Boxed trifecta: 1. Anamoe, 2. Dubai Honour, 4. Cascadian, 12. Montefilia

Sydney Queen of the Turf Stakes - 1600 metres - 4:35pm

Best Bet: 5. Hope In Your Heart - $8.50 - Hope In Your Heart produced some of the meeting best sectionals late in the Doncaster last week, she is on the quick back up on a heavy track which is a great betting profile.

Next best: 1. Alcohol Free - $3.30

Roughie of the race: 6. Promise of Success  - $71

Boxed trifecta: 1. Alcohol Free, 4. Hinged, 5. Hope In Your Heart, 6. Promise of Success

Dean's stats: Best bet 0/6, next best 0/6, roughie 0/6

Matthew Campbell

Head of communications at Betr and expert tipster and form analyst with The Great Tip Off and Punters.

Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championships Final - 1400 metres - 1:25pm

Best bet: 5. Kayobi - $3.80 - Form is impossible to ignore. Has had six starts for four wins and two seconds and has been favourite in his last 4 races and won them all. One go at the 1400 for a win and his first up win at Gosford has turned out to be a terrific form race. Handles all surfaces and shapes as the one to beat again.

Next best: 11. Short Shorts - $5

Roughie of the race: 8. Phearson - $19

Boxed trifecta: 1. Audette, 5. Kayobi, 8. Phearson, 11. Short Shorts

The Star Australian Oaks - 2400 metres - 2:35pm

Best bet: 2. Pavitra - $3.70 - Was still a great run in the Vinery Stud despite going down to Prowess (Extra Special). We know she can stay because of what she showed in the Spring. She is the class filly in the race, but doesn’t want it bottomless.

Next best: 5. Arts - $6.50

Roughie of the race: 6. Pierossa - $10

Boxed trifecta: 1. Pennyweka, 2. Pavitra, 5. Arts, 6. Pierossa

Schweppes Sydney Cup - 3200 metres - 3:15pm

Best bet: 11. Cleveland - $3.90 - This was his target race and I can see no reason to doubt he is on track after that very encouraging first up run in the Tancred. That was WFA so drops plenty of weight to just 51kg. It’s the profile of a lightly raced horse trained by Joseph O'Brien with no weight that has been very successful before.

Next best: 12. High Emocean - $14

Roughie of the race: 15. Nerve Not Verve - $16

Boxed trifecta: 1. Gold Trip, 11. Cleveland, 12. High Emocean, 15. Nerve Not Verve

Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes - 2000 metres - 3:55pm

Best bet: 1. Anamoe - $2.60 - In what many are calling the “Racing Ashes” I am going with the home horse. He is striving for yet another Group 1 win and the key stat, is that it is his fourth run of the prep and he is now out to 2000 metres. His last three runs in this situation have seen him win the Cox Plate, win the Rosehill Guineas and a desperately close second in the Cox Plate the year before. Dubai Honour will have to be at his best to take away his crown.

Next best: 2. Dubai Honour - $2.45

Roughie of the race: 13. El Patroness - $51

Boxed trifecta: 1. Anamoe, 2. Dubai Honour, 4. Cascadian, 13. El Patroness

Sydney Queen of the Turf Stakes - 1600 metres - 4:35pm

Best Bet: 1. Alcohol Free - $3.30 - First start in Australia, but her form overseas around Baaeed is elite. Has an excellent first up record, can run and win on a heavy track and James McDonald takes the ride. Serious racehorse.

Next best: 5. Hope In Your Heart - $8.50

Roughie of the race: 8. Atishu - $12

Boxed trifecta: 1. Alcohol Free, 3. Levante, 5. Hope In Your Heart, 8. Atishu

Matthew's stats: Best bet 0/6, next best 1/6, roughie 0/6
