Sydney's Autumn Carnival wrapped up last weekend so the racing heads north for the Hawkesbury Cup Day.

High quality racing also travels to Victoria for the Mornington Cup and Queensland with the Mick Dittman race headlining the program.

Across the Australian tracks there are several group three and listed races with some of the country's best horses continuing to run before taking a spell for the winter.

The Hawkesbury Guineas and Hawkesbury Cup will headline the racing north of Sydney while the Mornington Cup hosts premier horses including Melbourne Cup winner Vow And Declare.

Hawkesbury XXXX Gold Rush - 2:20pm - 1100 metres

The Gold Rush is a Listed race over 1100 metres under quality handicap conditions with a prize pool of $160,000.

Best bet: 10. A Very Fine Red - $7.50 - Tough mare who peaks 2nd up at good odds on rain-affected ground.

Next best: 3. Andermatt - $2.70

Best bet: 2. Malkovich - $5.50 - Returns off a gelding operation and two nice trials. He has plenty of early toe and will make light work of the wide draw. Classy galloper who finds a very winnable race.

Best bet: 3. Andermatt - $2.70 - I like the freshen for Andermatt here coming out of a luckless run in the G1 Galaxy. He maps well from the inside gate and handles all conditions.

Blacktown Workers Hawkesbury Guineas - 3:00pm - 1400 metres

A group three race for horses aged three years old with set weights held over 1400 metres with a total purse of $200,000.

Neil's tips:

Best bet: 7. Hawaii Five Oh - $5.50 - Ready to win now 3rd-up; performs on soft ground and maps to get cover just off the speed.

Next best: 2. Kote - $6.50

Roughie: 6. Atmosphere - $8

Best bet: 9. Razeta - $5.50 - Razeta is the best bet on a challenging card. Her last start win on a heavy track rated through the roof and she’ll relish a rain-affected track once again.

Best bet: 2. Kote - $6.50 - Kote comes out of the A1 form-lines behind Aft Cabin in the Arrowfield Sprint. He rises to 1400m and should be able to sit up on speed throughout for the in-form. Josh Parr.

Next best: 7. Hawaii Five Oh - $5.50

Roughie: 9. Razeta - $5.50

Richmond Club Hawkesbury Cup - 4:20pm - 1600 metres

Group three raced over 1600 metres for horses aged three years and older and is run under handicap conditions with a purse of $200,000.

Best bet: 4. Just Folk - $8.50 - Tough Victorian six-year-old visitor who is a 3rd-up specialist and excels in wet ground.

Next Best: 3. Floating Artist - $3.60

Roughie: 9. Jo Jo Was A Man - $14

Boxed trifecta: 3. Floating Artist. 4. Just Folk, 8. New Mandate, 9. Jo Jo Was A Man

Mick's tips:

Best bet: 9. Jo Jo Was A Man - $14 - Is 3rd-up, near peak fitness and is well suited out to the mile. He handles all conditions and loves the 1600m.

Next best: 12. Hosier - $10

Roughie: 8. New Mandate - $9

Boxed trifecta: 8. New Mandate, 9. Jo Jo Was A Man, 10. Lord Ardmore, 12. Hosier

Best bet: 8. New Mandate - $9 - New Mandate was good first up. In the Doncaster Prelude, he has been freshened with a sharp tick over trial. He maps well and is a leading chance at nice odds.

Neds Mornington Cup - 4:35pm - 2400 metres

A Listed race over 2400 metres run under handicap conditions with a purse of $350,000.

Best bet: 3. Nonconformist - $5 - Can peak here 3rd-up getting out to the right trip and drawn to get a soft run in behind.

Next bet: 5. Hezashocka - $4

Roughie: 1. Vow And Declare - $7.50

Mick's tips:

Best bet: 5. Hezashocka - $4 - Hezashocka has been on the heels of group one winners Cascadian and Dubai Honour at his last two starts. With a gun jockey Blake Shinn aboard, he's a very easy bet to have.
