Ranking 0-2 NFL teams with hope (Bengals!) and without (ugh, Panthers)

Bengals, Titans, Raiders, Falcons and Panthers are both 0-2 to start their 2022 seasons. Since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, only 9.5 percent of teams have made the postseason after starting the season 0.2.

Drake London is leading the Atlanta Falcons' offense with 19 targets, 13 catches, and 160 yards. The Falcons are 9th in the league in points scored. The NFC is so bad and top-heavy that anyone can sneak into the January fun this season.

D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey are both excellent and good at football.

Baker Mayfield has been one of the NFL's worst starting quarterbacks so far. The Panthers are 28th in total offense and 20th on defense. Matt Rhule looks lost as a tactician and leader as head coach.

The Raiders are 2-0 but they have to be more consistent. They lost to the Chargers in the fourth quarter and to Cardinals in a dramatic fashion. The team has a lot of talent, including Davante Adams, Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, Kyler Murray and Chandler Jones.

The Bengals and Panthers are the only two teams that are not 0-2. The AFC West might be the worst division to start the season that way. The Chiefs, Chargers and even the Broncos have a lot of potential.

The Titans are 0-2 after losing to the Giants and getting destroyed by the Bills. They are a member of the AFC South, which is home to a number of teams with mixed results. The Titans have won the division twice before. The division is currently home for the Colts, Texans and Jaguars.

Derrick Henry is not playing the way he used to. Ryan Tannehill is one of the worst quarterbacks in pro football. The Titans are 0-2 and need to win their last 15 games to have any chance.  The team's offense is heavily dependent on Henry and Tannerhill.

The Bengals are 0-2 after a bad start to the season. They had five turnovers against the Steelers in Week 1. Joe Burrow has been sacked on 12.7 percent of his dropbacks in 2022. Last year, he was sacked only 9.6 percent. The Bengals have a top-10 defense. They won the AFC last year.

The Bengals are the defending AFC champions. They have the eighth-hardest remaining strength of schedule at .533. Cincinnati has national dates with the Dolphins, Chiefs, Buccaneers and Bills. The last three games are in the final December to January stretch of the season.
