Josh Jackson signed $ 2.1 million non-guaranteed contract, Gabe Brown one year $1.5 million. Jeff Dowlin signed two year two way contract and Ron Harper Jr signed the two years two ways contract as well.

Raptors are in a tough position from a team betting perspective. They are not a good bet to win the championship. The team has a history of hitting the over/under. The Eastern Conference is expected to be dominated by the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. There are only two spots left for the rest of the conference. Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers are the teams to fight for.

Raptors are going to win Atlantic Division. Boston and Philadelphia are the other teams that can challenge them. Boston won the Eastern Conference last season. Philadelphia added Malcolm Brogdon and Daniel House to the team this summer. James Harden is getting better before the 2022-23 season and has more time to adjust to playing with Joel Embiid.

Barnes won Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player last season. He is expected to win the award this year. Barnes has the potential to improve his game in his second season in the NBA. Ja Morant became the first player in NBA history to get both awards with his MOP win last year, and Barnes is not the favourite.

VanVleet is expected to lead NBA in 3-pointers per game. He ranked second in the NBA last season. Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson and Trae Young are better shooters than VanVeleet. The Raptors guard needs to take another step forward to be in contention.

Barnes is a strong contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award. He has a lot of potential and he played well as a rookie. However, he needs to improve his production to win the award, which is not very likely. The odds favour Barnes.
