Real Madrid v Chelsea: Real Madrid to win, Vinicius Jr to score, Fernandez and Fofana carded at 38/1 with Paddy Power

Reigning champions Real Madrid welcome 2021 winners Chelsea to the Bernabeu on Wednesday night for the first leg of their eagerly anticipated Champions League quarter final.

Using Paddy Power’s Bet Builder, talkSPORT have found a great bet at 38/1 ahead of the big match, which you can add straight to your bet slip here.

Chelsea head into the tie, a repeat of last season’s quarter final, as heavy underdogs having gone through a regressive season that has resulted in two sacked managers and the team currently sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The Blues travel to Madrid winless in their last four matches, the most recent of which was a 1-0 defeat to relegation threatened Wolves on Saturday afternoon in Frank Lampard’s first match back as interim boss.

The former Chelsea legend is taking charge of the side until the end of the season following the sacking of Graham Potter a fortnight ago.

Six of Chelsea’s last eight matches in the league are against teams above them in the table, so lifting the Champions League for the second time in three seasons could be the club’s best chance of playing European football next season.

Real Madrid have also had a disappointing season by their high standards, though not close to the season their opponents on Wednesday are experiencing.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are second in La Liga, 13 points behind league leaders Barcelona who look all set on winning their first league title in four years.

The reigning Spanish, European and world champions have lost two of their last three league matches, most recently falling short in a 3-2 defeat to Villarreal on Saturday night despite leading with 20 minutes to play.

Los Blancos did defeat their El Clasico rivals in the Copa del Rey semi finals last week, so could still finish the season with two trophies to go along with the Club World Cup they won in Morocco back in February.

This will be the third time in as many seasons that the two teams have been drawn together in the latter stages of this competitions, with each side winning one of those ties each.
