Rio Ferdinand makes Premier League title prediction but admits he has clear preference
The Premier League title race still remains wide open after the first eight games of the season, with Tottenham leading Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool in the table
Rio Ferdinand still believes Manchester City will win the Premier League title, but admitted he would love for either Arsenal or Tottenham to pip them.
Spurs currently sit top of the league, leading the Gunners on goals scored and City by two points heading into the international break. They have been transformed since new boss Ange Postecoglou took charge in the summer and remain unbeaten.
The work of the Australian has impressed Ferdinand, who has now opened up on his desire to see them win the top-flight for the first time since 1961. But the Manchester United legend did warn fans that City are still in pole position.
"I still think City will win. Arsenal are in there, Arsenal have a good chance, I can't lie. Arsenal have got a massive chance. I'd actually like Arsenal to win it this year, I would," Ferdinand told Vibe with Five.
"Because that would mean City don't win four in a row. I'd actually prefer Spurs. Come on Ange, come on Ange, I am Spurs mad. This geezer's brought something into that squad that we haven't seen for a long time.
"They were pining for Pochettino at one point, they've moved on now. They've moved on and now they've got a guy who they believe in. We're eight games in so I'm not going to get carried away, but there's such an uplift at that football club because of what that man has done."

Postecoglou has also cautioned fans against getting carried away, with only eight games of the season having been played. The Spurs boss did though hail his side's character for defeating Luton despite playing all of the second-half with 10 men.
"Yeah, it's going alright, but we're in October and still have a lot of work to do. A lot of character and resilience, which the team has showed a lot in the previous games before today," he told TNT Sports.
"We started really well, should have been three or four up, but then you get the red card and it is a different type of game. I thought we held it together really well. In the end, we get three points at a difficult place to go.
"I don't think it is fair to compare to last season, and speak about what happened then. It is all credit to the players, the way they have bought into what we are trying to do. We are really tight as a group.
"You see because not only are we winning games, but apart from the football which has been good, the resilience we have shown has been great. The players want to change the destiny of this football club and that is what they are trying to do on the pitch."
Tottenham will return to action with the visit of Fulham in just under a fortnight's time. By that point they could be third, with Arsenal and City playing before them when the Premier League returns from its break.
