Royal Ascot inspection with racing under threat after torrential rain hits the track

There is a Royal Ascot inspection at 12.45pm. The Commonwealth Cup and Coronation Stakes are the top level contests on the card. It is possible that the racing will be abandoned. If it is, it would be the first time since 1964. There are two contingency plans for the meeting. One is running a five-race card with the Cor on straight course and the other a ten- race card including the Commonwealth, Coroner's Stake and King Edward VII Stages.

All of the action would be shown on ITV. The provisional order of running is: 1.20 pm Chesham, 1:55 pm Hardwicke, 2:30 pm Commonwealth Cup, 3:05 pm Coronation Stakes, and 3.40 pm Diamond Jubilee Stake.
