This Thursday, Michael Wacha and the San Diego Padres will head to Chase Field to take on Ryne Nelson and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The San Diego Padres will enter this game against the Arizona Diamondbacks following a huge win against the Atlanta Braves last night which resulted in a final score of 1-0. Despite the win against the Braves, the Padres have still dropped three of their last four games played.

In the game against the Braves, pitchers Nick Martinez and Charlie Morton were lights out for the entire game, until Padres outfielder Joan Soto hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth which ended up being the game winning run. The Padres are one of the favorites to win the World Series this year and are more than capable of doing so with the lineup they have.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will enter this game against the San Diego Padres following an embarrassing loss yesterday evening against the St Louis Cardinals which resulted in a final score of 14-5. Diamondbacks pitcher Madison Bumgarner struggled at the mound right off the bat and never got a chance to hit his stride which resulted in a downward spiral as the Cardinals took advantage.

The Diamondbacks haven’t been any good over the past few years but this year, they have the potential to sneak into the wildcard. The Diamondbacks aren’t exactly playing phenomenal right now but they do have a winning record which is very impressive. The Diamondbacks have won three of their last four games played.

This game will be nothing short of a mismatch. The San Diego Padres have momentum after their win against the Braves last night while the Diamondbacks need to figure out quickly what went wrong last night against the Cardinals.
