San Diego Padres vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction 6-13-23 MLB Picks

The Cleveland Guardians and the San Diego Padres meet Tuesday in MLB action from Petco Park. The Guardians are coming off a weekend series versus the Astros. Cleveland won two of three in that set. Cleveland Guardians 

The Guardians eked out a 10-9 win over the Astros on Friday, but then fell 6-4 in the Saturday game two. On Sunday in the rubber match Cleveland powered out a 5-0 victory. Starting pitcher Shane Bieber put up 7.0 innings with three hits, one walk and nine Ks in that one. 

For the starter job on Tuesday the Guardians will send out Tanner Bibee. In his eight starts this year (the first eight of his career) Bibee is 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA and 42 Ks in 44.1 innings. 

San Diego Padres 

Over on the Padres’ side, they beat the Rockies 9-6 Friday and 3-2 Saturday. San Diego couldn’t complete the sweep however, falling 5-4 in the finale. In Sunday’s game San Diego pitcher Blake Snell put up 7.0 innings with one earned, three hits and 12 strikeouts. 

The Guardians are 4-1 in their last five overall and 11-4 in their last 15 versus the NL West. Cleveland is 4-9 in their last 13 interleague games. 

Meanwhile, the Padres are 5-0 in the last five after a loss and 9-4 in their last 13 in game one of a series. San Diego is 24-9 in their last 33 after an off day.

I’ll stick with the Padres here. Musgrove is doing well these days. Over his last three starts, Musgrove has a combined two earned runs on 13 hits and four walks in 17.1 innings. He’s 2-0 in that time. As for Bibee, he’s got five earned over 16.0 innings in his last three starts, giving up 12 hits and four walks in that stretch. I like both starters to have a good showing in this one as San Diego powers out a close victory. Should be a fun one.
