Saturday guide: Odds, picks, previews for Chilukki & 3 other stakes

Coach is the 9-5 morning-line favorite for the Grade 3, $300,000 Chilukki Stakes at Churchill Downs. The one-mile race for 3-and-up fillies and mares starts at 5:35 p.m. EST. Brad Cox trains Coach, a 4-year-old Commissioner filly. She Can't Sing is seeking her first graded win for trainer Chris Block. Mariah’s Princess finished her 2021 season by winning December”s Mistletoe Stake at Oaklawn.

Brad Cox and Ricardo Santana Jr. beat Coach 9-5.

Mariah's Princess (Philip Bauer and Martin Garcia) is the favorite at the Chilukki.

Center Aisle is the favorite at 6-1.

Ice Orchid is the favorite at 10-1.

Empire House is 15-1 favorite to win at Chilukki.

She Can't Sing (Chris Block and Brian Hernandez Jr.) beat Chilukki (Brian Hernandez and Chris Block) 5-2.

Centre Aisle is the early favorite in the Gio Ponti Stakes at Aqueduct. The winner is Steady On (2-1). Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. will ride Pioneerof the Nile colt. Todd Pletcher also trains Grand Sonata (3-2) and Dakota Gold (9-3).

Desi Arnaz Stakes, 2-year-old fillies, seven furlongs, Del Mar, FanDuel TV, 5:59 p.m. Justique won on first asking in July and finished third in the Chandelier Stake at Santa Anita. Victor Espinoza will ride Justify, a Justification filly, at Desi. Tim Yakteen trains Blessed Touch, an 8 3/4-length victor at the Santa Monica St.akes. Huntingcoco finished last of seven in Chandelsier for trainer Bob Baffert.

7 p.m. – $100,000 Cary Grant Stakes, California-bred or California sired, 3-and-up, seven furlongs, Del Mar, FanDuel TV. The Chosen Vron (1-1) has won back-to-back stakes, including the California Flag Handicap on Oct. 16 at Santa Anita. Richard Mandella trains stakes winner Big City Lights (9-5). None Above the Law (5-2) was second to The Chose Vroon in his last start for trainer Peter Miller.
