Scottish Grand National 2023 Odds: Check out the latest betting for the Ayr event

We take a look at the latest 2023 Scottish Grand National Odds, as the marathon event is set to light up Ayr racecourse on Saturday afternoon at 15:35 as a hugely competitive field of 23 runners are set to do battle in the 3m 7f 176y showpiece...

Christian Williams is set to try and land back-to-back wins in the Scottish Grand National as having saddled Win My Wings to glory in 2022 the Welsh handler will unleash the exciting Kitty's Light, who is a prominent figure in the betting for the 2023 renewal. An excellent second last year, Kitty's Light warmed up for this contest with a fine win in the Eider Chase at Newcastle and the dour stayer looks a huge contender for glory north of the border and is one of the ones to beat.

Lucinda Russell and Derek Fox teamed up for Grand National success at Aintree last weekend with Corach Rambler and the Scottish-based duo aim for more National success with Your Own Story, who has been hugely progressive in recent times and is one of those catching the eye towards the lower echelons of the handicap.

Monbeg Genius is another on a rapid upward curve and the Jonjo O'Neill-trained star has racked up a plethora of wins this season before putting up a career best when third behind the aforementioned Corach Rambler in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last month. With more improvement to come he looks to be one of the major players taking their chance in what is always a fascinating betting heat for punters to enjoy.

There will be notable challenge from Ireland in the shape of Malina Girl, who lines up for Gavin Cromwell and the six-year-old mare was last seen bounding to glory in the Ulster National at Downpatrick, and having shown a real love for staying events she has to be a lively player.

Sandy Thomson's Flower Of Scotland sits towards the bottom of the weights and showed when winning the Borders National at Kelso that she is another that can excel over extreme distances, while her stablemate Empire Steel is another prominent figure in the betting for the Thomson team and was a winner last time out.

Nicky Henderson's Dusart and the Paul Nicholls-trained Threeunderthrufive sit at the top of the weights for this event and have both shown some very smart form, when at their best, but they will have a lot of weight to carry in this event - if they are to claim glory, while the latter will also have the smart Flash Collonges lining up.

A fine Sky Bet Chase winner earlier in the season, Cooper's Cross will make a quick reappearance after falling in the Topham at Aintree last week and is another that is eye-catching in the latest odds that are sure to change in the hours leading up to the Scottish Grand National, which looks a real thriller for punters to enjoy.
