Something for every Big Ten QB to prove in Week 1 (and beyond)

Ryan Hilinski is the top quarterback in the Big Ten. He passed for 314 yards in his first game since a game against Appalachian State in 2019. Hilinksi completed at least 70% of his passes with a minimum of 30 attempts for the first time since doing it against Vanderbilt the previous week.

DeVito completed 27 of 37 passes against Wyoming. Illinois gained 194 yards through the air. Online sports betting will be officially launched on January 1, 2023 in Ohio.

Connor Bazelak or Jack Tuttle needs to prove they are the starter for Indiana against the Illini.

Spencer Petras needs to be above-average with flashes of good to have a successful season for Iowa. Seven of his 9 interceptions came in 2 games against Purdue and Kentucky.

Taulia Tagovailoa is a star quarterback for Maryland. He has a healthy Dontay Demus Jr. and Rakim Jarrett at his disposal. The offensive line is back and the team has an experienced offensive coordinator.

Cade McNamara is the starter for Michigan against Colorado State. JJ McCarthy will start for Hawaii. The debate over the starting quarterback will probably not be settled until at least Week 4 against Maryland.

Payton Thorne is the quarterback for Michigan State. Last season, he was the man, and the team won 11-2. This year, Thorn is a leader of the offense, with running backs Jalen Berger and Jarek Broussard.

Tanner Morgan is a 6th-year senior and got married over the summer. He passed for 3,253 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2019, but struggled in the following 2 seasons.

Casey Thompson threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter against Nebraska. Thompson's performance reminds Huskers fans of Adrian Martinez.

CJ Stroud is the quarterback of Ohio State. Bryce Young is a quarterback who is compared to Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf. Stoud will be tested in the upcoming season.

Sean Clifford finished 7th in the B1G in passer rating last year. He needs to be in top 4 this year for Penn State to reach their potential. The season opener at Purdue is a great opportunity to show what he's got.

Aidan O'Connell is expected to be the second-best quarterback in the Big Ten behind Stroud. O’Connell came on strong at the end of last season and is widely expected.

Noah Vedral has to get good quick for Rutgers. He produced 7 touchdowns, 7 interceptions and just 139.5 yards per game in 2021. Vedrals' team is 11-game losing streak to Boston College.

Graham Mertz is the starter for Wisconsin's football team. He is not the best quarterback, but he is a key player for the defense. Last year he completed 59.5% of his throws for 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
