Super Rugby Pacific Round 13 Tips

Friday 19/5/23

5:05pm Moana Pasifika vs Crusaders @ Mt Smart Stadium

Moana Pasifika was pumped by the Hurricanes last week, losing 71-22 in one of the more embarrassing performances in Super Rugby history.

They were never in the game, and we fear for a similar result against the Crusaders on Friday night in Auckland.

The Crusaders were far too good for the Force last week, and although they’re resting players, they are only –10.5 favourites, which is too good to pass up.

Betting tip: Crusaders –10.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Reds vs Blues @ Suncorp Stadium

The Reds created history when upsetting the Chiefs in Hamilton last week, but doing it two weeks in a row against a New Zealand team is tough.

Given how the Blues played last week, we’re not surprised to see them favoured to beat the Reds in Queensland at $1.22 as a bounce back performance.

Bookmakers have the line at 10.5, and with only two weeks left in the regular season, we see the Blues playing their best rugby.

Betting tip: Blues –10.5 @ $1.90

Saturday 20/5/23

2:35pm Highlanders vs Rebels @ Forsyth Barr Stadium

The Highlanders have been the big disappointment of the Kiwi sides, but they should still be far too good for the Rebels.

Not much is going right for either side, but playing at home and coming off a 48-32 loss to the Brumbies should be enough to get the Highlanders home.

They didn’t play too poorly last week, and the Rebels lost 38-20 to the Waratahs, which is a worse form guide.

Bookmakers have the Highlanders at –9.5 and they shouldn’t have too many problems covering the spread.

Betting tip: Highlanders –9.5 @ $1.90

5:05pm Chiefs vs Hurricanes @ FMG Stadium

The Chiefs suffered an embarrassing loss to the Reds last week, which gave the Reds their first win in New Zealand for 10 years.

We didn’t see it coming from the Chiefs, who were unbeaten, and seemingly heading towards the final.

They’re still in a commanding position, but the Hurricanes scored 71 points last week and they’re hitting top form at the right time of the year.

It could be a close contest, but the Chiefs are still classy, and wanting to produce the goods.

Betting tip: Chiefs –9.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Waratahs vs Fijian Drua @ Allianz Stadium

Coming off their best win of the year are the Waratahs, who scored an 18-point win over the Rebels.

Coming off one of their worst performances are the Fijian Drua, who were thumped 34-14 against the Force, which is a terrible form guide.

Knowing what to expect from the Pacific teams isn’t easy, but given the depth of the Waratahs roster, they should have the spread covered.

Betting tip: Waratahs –9.5 @ $1.90

10:00pm Force vs Brumbies @ NIB Stadium

Punters are faced with another 10.5-point spread as the Force host the Brumbies on Saturday night.

The Force scored their best win of the season when beating the Drua, but the Brumbies were better when beating the Highlanders.

That’s a better form guide for this game, and the visitors are eyeing a playoffs spot, so there’s more on the line.

Betting tip: Brumbies –10.5 @ $1.90
