Supercomputer predicts outcome of Premiership title race after Rangers and Celtic January transfer business

THE transfer window has been and gone - now it's back to the football.

And the burning question is whether Rangers or Celtic are best placed to go on and win the Scottish title after their business in the month just past.

The Ibrox side - led by Philippe Clement and his Belgian countryman and transfer guru Nils Koppen - made some eye-catching additions.

Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande looks like he could be a big signing in midfield, with Colombian starOscar Cortes and on-loan Fabio Silva exciting players too.

It's been a bit more low-key at Celtic, although winger Nicolas Kuhn has pace to burn and Norwich City's Adam Idah could surprise a few people.

More importantly, perhaps, the Hoops have managed to end the window with all their big hitters still at the club - amid links for the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liel Abada.

And all the most recent up-to-the-minute data has all been inputted into Bettingexpert's supercomputer ahead of the league action getting under way this weekend.

Following BETSiE's projections, the Hoops were projected to win the league with an estimated total of 89.9points compared to the Gers' 84.3pts.

And now the most recent numbers are in.

And while Brendan Rodgers' Hoops are still predicted to claim the title, their margin of victory has been shaved to just 3.4 points.

In essence, it suggests the league could pretty much go down to the last DAY of the season.

The algorithm simulates the Premier League season 100,000 times - taking into account all match results from last season (across all competitions) the pre-season results, and the current season as it progresses.

It projects the the season based on both pre-season expectations and xG earned both for and against during the season.
