The Syracuse Orange football team defeated Missouri Tigers 24-13 in 1987. Don McPherson and Rob Moore would connect on a 71-yard touchdown pass and Robert Drummond would score a one-yards rushing touchdown. The Orange went 11-0-1 on the season and won the Sugar Bowl against Auburn. Mcpheron would be drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1988 NFL Draft.

The 2022 Syracuse football team is currently sitting at 5-0 for the first time in 35 years. The team would defeat the Louisville Cardinals, Connecticut Huskies, Purdue Boilermakers, Virginia Cavaliers and Wager Seahawks.
