Best Bet and Prediction:

Under interim head coach Elijah Robinson, Texas A&M honestly has nothing to lose going into this matchup, as the news of who will succeed Jimbo Fisher could come as soon as this weekend.

While quarterback Jaylen Henderson is poised to make his third consecutive start, the former Fresno State signal-caller will essentially have to out-duel Tiger’s quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is, or at least should be, the Heisman Trophy frontrunner.

Accounting for 4,000-plus yards this season, It’s up to Texas A&M’s 8th-ranked defense and elite pass rush (40 sacks) to pressure Daniels up the middle and contain him in the pocket as much as possible.

However, LSU’s 94th-ranked pass defense is just plain atrocious, providing an opening for Henderson, combined with wide receivers Ainias Smith and Moose Muhammad III, to expose the Tigers through the air. LSU has the edge, but this game could be a high-scoring shootout if the Aggies offense finds a rhythm early.

Prediction: LSU 35, Texas A&M 31
