Texas National Championship odds (Are Longhorns making College Football Playoff?)

Texas completed its season long quest for a College Football Playoff berth in dominating fashion, blitzing Oklahoma State to the tune of a 49-21 win in the Big 12 Championship.

Is the Longhorns Conference Championship and road win at Alabama in Week 2 going to be enough to impress the College Football Playoff Selection Committee? Texas is now the second choice to win the National Championship as chaos rages on in the lead up to the reveal of the top four teams at 12 p.m. EST.

UPDATE: Texas was ranked No. 3 in the final College Football Playoff rankings, setting up a matchup against Washington in the Sugar Bowl. Texas opened as 3.5-point favorites with a total of 63.5. The odds below will be updated accordingly.

While Michigan and Washington are certainly in as the top two seeds, there’s plenty of debate about who the other two teams will be, including Texas.

The Longhorns have a head-to-head win at Alabama, who won the SEC Championship game against two-time defending National Championship winner Georgia.

The team also has to compete with undefeated Florida State, who won the ACC Championship on Saturday against Louisville, but did it with its third string quarterback after starter Jordan Travis suffered a season ending injury.

So, who will get in? While it’s far from predictive, FanDuel’s odds illustrate that people are bullish on the Longhorns chances of getting in.
