College Football Playoff odds: Georgia, Ohio State lead the way
The College Football Playoff selection committee released its latest rankings Tuesday night. The committee's rankings mostly fall in line with how oddsmakers view the 2022-23 college football national championship landscape. There are four head-to-head games between teams currently ranked in the College football's Top 25 and one involving teams ranked outside the Top 5.
Georgia is the favorite to defend its 2021-22 College Football Playoff title. Ohio State is second, followed by Michigan and then Georgia. The committee dropped Tennessee from the top spot to No. 5 and elevated unbeaten TCU from No 7 to the fourth slot. TCU is tied with Alabama in the odds market. TCU's game at No 18 Texas is a 7-point road underdog. It's the same difference between where Tennessee, Oregon, LSU and USC sit in rankings and their position on the national championship odds board.
Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Michigan are the current favorites to make the College Football Playoff. The other teams with a chance to qualify are Oregon, USC and UCLA.
