Texas Rangers vs Houston Astros Prediction 7-3-23 MLB Picks

The Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers meet Monday in MLB action from Glob Life Field. This will be the finale in a four-game weekend series. After a split in the first pair, in game three on Sunday the Astros took a two-run win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Houston Astros

The Astros took a 5-3 win in the Friday opener of this series, but then fell 5-2 in game two. On Sunday Houston scored three in the eighth and held on for the 5-3 win. Starter Shawn Dubin managed 4.0 innings with one earned on three hits and two walks.

For the starter job Monday the Astros will send out Cristian Javier. In his 16 starts this year Javier is 7-1 with a 3.72 ERA and 78 Ks in 87.0 innings. Javier is 27-13 with a 3.20 ERA in 94 career games (60 starts).

Texas Rangers

Over on the Texas side, they managed 15 team hits in the Saturday victory. In Sunday’s game three, the Rangers had a 1-0 lead for much of the game but didn’t score again until the eighth inning. Andrew Heaney went 5.0 clean frames in the start with three hits and a walk.

It’ll be Martin Perez in the start for Texas on Monday. Over his 16 starts this year Perez is 7-3 with a 4.28 ERA and 60 Ks in 90.1 innings. Perez is 82-80 with a 4.42 ERA in 269 career games (239 starts).

The Astros are 49-20 in their last 69 versus the AL West and 11-5 in their last 16 in game four of a series. The over is 11-0 in Houston’s last 11 Monday games.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are 22-46 in their last 68 in game four of a series and the over is 3-0-1 in their last four in game four of a series. The under is 3-1-1 in Texas’ last five Monday games.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably try the Rangers here. Perez is on a pretty good run right now; he’s 1-1 over his last three games. In that span Perez has six earned on 11 hits and six walks in 19.0 frames total. On Sunday Texas only got hits from four different players, so it was a fairly listless offensive day. The pen wasn’t great either, so the Rangers will have a lot of adjustments to make for the finale.
