The Sentry 2024 picks: Outright winner picks, predictions, odds for opening PGA TOUR event in Hawaii

The Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off the 2024 PGA TOUR season from Kapalua’s Plantation Course in Maui, Hawai’i on Thursday, January 7. The field is made up of PGA TOUR event and major championship winners from 2023, and will include some of the biggest names in the sport. Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, and Viktor Hovland are just a few of the elite golfers traveling to the Aloha State to compete this week.

Last year’s Sentry winner, Jon Rahm, joined the LIV Golf League in December and will not be eligible to participate in the tournament. Morikawa was the 2023 runner-up.

Scottie Scheffler +550

Scheffler is the top-ranked golfer in the field, and with Rahm and Rory McIlroy absent, Scheffler has a good shot at winning his first Sentry tournament. He finished tied for seventh last year and tied for 13th in 2022, and enters as the favorite this year.

Collin Morikawa +1200

Morikawa picked up the pace at the end of the 2023 season, and finished up the year with a T6 finish at the TOUR Championship, a win at the ZOZO Championship, and a seventh place finish at the Hero World Challenge. Morikawa has done well in previous Sentry tournaments and finished second last year.

Tommy Fleetwood +2800

Fleetwood did well in 2023’s elevated events and majors, grabbing a T5 at the U.S. Open, a T3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and a T6 at the TOUR Championship. Fleetwood is a strong putter, which will play to his advantage at Kapalua. He’s a bit of a long shot, but realistically should be in the mix come Sunday.
