Three things to know about JACK's casino/racino sportsbooks

Matt Anderson is the director of design and construction at JACK Entertainment. He is touring the unfinished sportsbook at the JACK Thistledown racino. Jack Entertainment expects the sportsbooks to be ready ahead of January 1st, when legalized sports gambling arrives in Ohio.

The downtown casino will be located on the first floor, just off the Prospect Avenue entrance. It will have 99 seats, including 45 theater-style recliners with phone chargers, seven low-boy tables with four swivel chairs each, two small banquette- style seats with room for four people each and one large banquet-like table with six seats. The sportsbook's main video wall will include 35 feet by 10 feet, with the ability to show one game or multiple games. There will also be a 16-foot-by-7-feet odds board and 14 85-inch TVs.

Del Pup, a Detroit native, believes Ohio State will win the game. Del Pups questions if they will cover the spread.

The Thistledown sportsbook is smaller and more out of the way than the downtown casino. It will be located at the former Slush Bar & Patio, near the back of Thistsledow's racino floor. The main video wall and the odds boards will also be slightly smaller than downtown.

JACK Entertainment's casino/racino sportsbooks are designed to look like Vegas sportsbook, but Cleveland-sized. 80% of the construction workforce is made up of Cleveland vendors. Both sites are hiring positions within the sports books. The sportsbets are scheduled to open on January 1st.
