FanDuel Ohio will launch a mobile sportsbook affiliated with Belterra Park, a horse racing track and casino outside Cincinnati. The company will also operate a retail sportsbooks at the facility. FanDuell operates mobile gamesbooks in 18 states and has retail locations in 16.
FanDuel Ohio is going live on January 1st. The app will offer competitive odds updated in real time and augmented by live steaming of some sporting events. It will also offer benefits such as insurance on certain multi-leg parlays, referral bonuses, odds boosts and sport-specific promos.
FanDuel Ohio will launch with a new promo code. The code is No Sweat First Bet. New users can get up to $1,000 credit if their initial wager fails to win. FanDuell accepts deposits through debit and credit cards, electronic check, wire transfers and apps like PayPal.
Ohio's Jan. 1 universal start date for betting apps will represent the largest simultaneous launch of sports betting ever in the U.S. Regulators will pore over an estimated 3,000 applications before awarding up to 25 Type A licenses for mobile sportsbooks, 42 Type B licenses, and an undetermined number of Type C licenses. Several applications have already received conditional approval.
