Thunder vs. Timberwolves same-game parlay predictions Jan. 20: Bet on Chet Holmgren in homecoming game

The top two squads in the Western Conference meet tonight as the Minnesota Timberwolves host the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The pregame narrative: Oklahoma City will play its fourth road game in six nights, which is part of the reason I'm taking the host Timberwolves on the moneyline for Saturday. Additionally, this +330 ticket includes points props for Karl-Anthony Towns and Chet Holmgren.

NBA oddsas of 2:55 p.m. on 01/20/2024.

Thunder vs. Timberwolves same-game parlay

Parlay: Timberwolves ML + Towns under 22.5 points + Holmgren over 13.5 points (+330)

Timberwolves moneyline (-148): Home-court advantage is what I'm leaning on for this moneyline pick.

Minnesota and OKC have split their season series to this point, with both sides winning one game apiece at home. The Timberwolves also have the best home record in the Western Conference (17-2) and are winning at home by an average of 10.3 points.

The Thunder are no slouches on the road, but their 12-8 record away from Paycom Center obviously doesn't dazzle as much.

Minnesota has won eight of the past 10 matchups between these teams, which dates back to January 2022.

Other parlay picks

Towns under 20.5 points (-162): Although this pick doesn't harmonize with the aforementioned Timberwolves moneyline pick, it makes plenty of sense.

Towns has finished under this point total in eight straight games against the Thunder — dating back to the 2021-22 season — while averaging 15.6 points in those matchups. This season, he's finished with 16 and 13 points, respectively, in two games against OKC.

The Thunder allow the lowest field goal percentage inside of five feet (59.6%), according to NBA.com, and they hold opponents to the 10th-lowest FG% from 3-point range (35.8%). They are a defensively solid team that always seems to be able to put the clamps on KAT.

Holmgren over 13.5 points (-315): Holmgren, a Twin Cities native, is feeling the love at home right now.

The OKC rookie had his high school jersey retired at Minnehaha Academy on Friday, and tonight he'll have a chance to continue showing why he's one of the most promising youngsters in the NBA.

Holmgren has already put up some solid scoring numbers against the Timberwolves, averaging 18.0 points in a pair of matchups and hitting this over both times. He's finished over 13.5 points in 18 of his past 21 games, averaging 17.8 points in that span.
