Tigers vs. Blue Jays prediction and odds for Tuesday, April 11 (Detroit will put up a fight)

The Detroit Tigers will head North of the Border to take on the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night in what will serve as the Jays' home opener.

Toronto is set as a massive favorite in tonight's game but I'm here to convince you that Detroit will put up a much tougher fight than you might expect.

Let's dive into the odds for the game and then I'll break down my best bet.

There have been few bright spots surrounding the Tigers this season, so convincing you to bet on them is a tough task for me to achieve, but I'm going to do my best.

Matt Manning gets the start for Detroit, and he had a solid first outing for the club this season. He allowed only two earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched in his 2023 debut, which led the Tigers to a 6-3 win against the Houston Astros.

Manning will face Alek Manoah of the Jays, who followed up a rough first outing with 7.0 scoreless innings in his second start of the season. Still Manoah may be gettable as he's trying to find his grove this season. He may have brought his ERA down to 4.35 after the disastrous opening day, but he sports a 6.40 FIP which may indicate he's not out of the woods yet.

We're not going to get too crazy and bet on the Tigers to full on upset the Blue Jays in their home opener, but instead we're going to take the Detroit run line at +1.5. That means, Toronto would have to win by at least two runs for us to lose our bet. If it's a one run game, this bet will be a winner.

It's not every game that we're going to be able to get a +1.5 run line bet at +115 odds, so I think this is a good time to try to take advantage against a Blue Jays team that has had a roller coaster start to their 2023 campaign.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
