I’m glad this year’s Summer League coincides with the All-Star break in baseball, otherwise I’d really be feeling the dog days of summer sports betting. And thankfully it’s the Wolves playing tonight with another chance for us to see Leonard Miller in action.

The handicap here is pretty simple though, since it has to be given the lack of information. There have been 30 games played in Summer League so far, and out of those 60 individual team results only 15 have eclipsed 100 points. We have two of them going tonight in this game, so I’ll count on that to be a sign of how both the Wolves and Jazz are approaching this event.

Luis Robert (+500)

The White Sox center fielder is the top seed for a reason. He’s a monster with an effortless home run swing, and has the kind of barrel rate and exit velocity you look for in this event. I think he has the easiest path to the finals, and the odds here don’t reflect his potential

Mookie Betts (+900)

The odds for Betts in this event have cratered, so somebody knows something. It’s probably that the diminutive Dodger star was wildly underpriced for someone who is right there with all the hulking monsters in this event for advanced stats. I’m going to follow the money here with a guy who has a sneaky path to the final round.
