Today's Best Bets, Expert Predictions, Odds (11/25/23)

Another day, another dollar in the NBA and we have a smaller six-game slate worth of NBA action on Saturday night. We have some fun matchups tonight, though, with some surprising storylines to monitor.

We have ourselves a few teams coming into this slate on a back-to-back, as the Heat, Wizards, Pelicans, and Clippers will all take to the hardwood for the second consecutive night tonight. We'll see how that affects our picks here.

In this article, I'll be providing my favorite picks against the spread, game totals, parlays, and teasers for the first full NBA slate of the season that tips off at 5:00 PM EST on Saturday, November 25.

NBA Betting Picks: Totals

Atlanta Hawks (-8) @ Washington Wizards (248.5 total)

I'll start things out in the nation's capital. The Hawks come into this game on a scoring frenzy. They currently rank 2nd in the NBA in points scored (124.1) and have scored the most points in the league over their last three games (138.3). They project to positively regress in both pace (108.94) and offensive efficiency (-1.71) tonight against Washington.

I can confidently say that the Wizards are one of the worse NBA teams that I've ever seen. They've allowed 123.9 points per game (2nd) over the course of the season and 126.3 points over their last three games (26th). Not only this, they come into this matchup off of a back-to-back where only nine guys played. They gave up 131 points to Milwaukee on Friday night, and I'll predict they allow even more than that in this one.

The Pick: ATL Team Total Over 128.5 (-110, FanDuel)

NBA Betting Picks: ML and Spreads

New Orleans Pelicans (-1) @ Utah Jazz (235 total)

I'll head out to Utah for my second play of the night. As I'm typing this, the Pelicans are up on the Los Angeles Clippers in the first half of their matchup. While they'll be on a back-to-back tonight, they project up against Lauri Markkanen's Jazz. Their 117.27 projected offensive efficiency is a +6.67 boost to their season efficiency (110.6). They have strong-efficiency matchups at the small forward, power forward, and center positions, where I'd think that most of the production comes from in this one.

They'll take on the Utah Jazz. Utah has certainly struggled early on this season, bringing in just a 4-11 record. They'll have a tough test here as the Pelicans come to town, and the projections reflect this. It's only a minor regression, but the Jazz do project to just a 109.96 offensive efficiency in this one, a number that would find them between the 18-20 rank league-wide. I'll back the Pelicans to take care of business on the back-to-back.
