Top Races to Watch at This Year’s Goodwood Festival

Glorious Goodwood Festival is one of the highlights of summer sporting calendar. Here are some of this year's must-see races to watch at this edition.

The festival gets underway on Tuesday with six races on the schedule. Stradivarius is aiming for a fifth-straight Goodwood Cup win. Sir Ron Priestley is one of a handful of contenders out to frustrate the favourite. Spanish Mission beat SirRon Priestly in the Yorkshire Cup and landed third ahead of Stradoivarus in Royal Ascot Gold Cup.

Poetic Flare is odds-on to win the Sussex Stakes on Wednesday. Palace Pier has withdrawn due to a blood problem.

Nassau Stakes is the third and final of the three Group 1 races of Goodwood Festival. The race is open to fillies and mares aged three years and older. Last year Fancy Blue won the race. Audarya is this year's leading contender. Love is unlikely to feature due to a scheduled appearance at Ascot. Falmouth Stake winner Snow Lantern and Lady Bowthorpe should be in the mix.

Battaash is aiming to win the King George Stakes for the fifth successive year. Dragon Symbol and Winter Power are looking to spoil the party. Goodwood Festival is one of the most popular horse races in the world.
