ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to try the Angels in this one. Detmers needs to post a quality start (and likely get some help from the bats/pen), however. Detmers had 11 earned runs over a span of 9.1 innings this month, and he’s lost two of his last three games. That said, Detmers pitched fairly well in his last start versus the Pirates. As for Manoah, he’s given up seven earned in his last 8.1 innings so Los Angeles should be in pretty good shape at the plate if all goes well. On Friday the Angels couldn’t make any noise on the scoreboard outside of Ohtani’s homer. Los Angeles will need to finish off any potential offensive rallies early, but I think they’ve got a good shot to even things up in game two.
