Tributes paid to 'grand old man' and 'best barman' Stan McRae (93) of Perth

Stan McRae died peacefully in Perth Royal Infirmary on December 6. He was well-known through his decades of work in the licensed trade. His daughter Isabel, grand-daughter Janice and grandson Michael were by his side. Diane McLeish paid tribute to his "wonderful gifts of kindness, strength, acceptance, generosity and love". Stan was born in 1928 to parents James and Mary Mcrae. Stan left school early and started working at a bacon factory. In 1955 he married Isabelle and they had a daughter Issy. After leaving the bacon industry, Stan worked in several local hostelries and clubs.
