Underclassmen Maroon Tiger Players Embrace Challenge and HBCU Culture in Howard U Showdown
Azola Martin, Bradley Johnson and Myles Lee are underclassmen players on the Morehouse College football team. They are playing against Howard University on Saturday (Sept. 17) at MetLife Stadium. The team is looking for their first win of the 2022 college football season. This classic HBCU football matchup began in 1923. Since then, the teams have competed 37 times, with Howard leading the series 25-10-2. The younger players are excited about the team's new mindset going into this weekend. Morehouses lost at home to the University of West Georgia last week.
Howard Bison take on the Morehouse Tigers in the inaugural HBCU New York Football Classic at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on September 17th. The 49th annual Bayou Classic between Southern University and Grambling State will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on November 26th (2:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock). The 2022 H BCU Pigskin Showdown will be held at the Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama on December 17.
