Updated Ohio State football national championship odds

Ohio State football did not impress during its first game against the Indiana Hoosiers as it limped away with a 23-3 victory. Despite the slow start to the season, oddsmakers have not overreacted and changed the odds of the Buckeyes to win the College Football Playoff national championship. Our friends over at BetMGM are staying strong with their preseason odds and as of September 9th, the odds for the top ten teams are as follows:

Not much has changed with these odds and that makes sense as it would be extremely risky to make a drastic change after one game. We are obviously an Ohio State focused site and most of the readers here follow the Buckeyes closely, but OSU was not the only team to start 2023 off slow and the new clock rules didn’t do these potential blowouts any favors.

Other Big Ten teams listed above include the Michigan Wolverines, who also had an underwhelming season opener against the East Carolina Pirates. The Penn State Nittany Lions were one of the few teams that really exceeded expectations, showcasing an explosive offense and stingy defense in a big 38-15 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers.
